London 2014 – British contemporary self-taught artist, former ballet dancer and esteemed stuntwoman Maxine Shivling, is pleased to announce her debut art collection ‘The Shivlings’, which features contemporary wall art for homes and interior spaces.

Available for the first time on the launch website, this captivating collection of decorated pen and ink prints for sale takes inspiration from the wonderful world of female life and all that it means to be a woman.

Showcasing Shivling Collections

Showcasing four collections made up of 22 Shivling art prints in total, the online art gallery and shop includes the ‘Limited Edition’ and ‘Miss Shivling’ collections, Maxine’s personal favourite her signature ‘Paper Dolls’ collection, and the unique ‘Faerie Tales’ collection, which journeys deep into Maxine’s favourite childhood memories.

Commenting on the launch of her website. Maxine Shivling said: “As a professional stunt performer, who has worked on many blockbuster movies such as The Descent, Stardust, X-Men, Harry Potter and Batman, I am used to facing extreme situations on a regular basis. However introducing and sharing my fantasy friends ‘The Shivlings’ is way more daunting from a personal perspective.

I created ‘ The Shivlings’ as a little girl and since then they have grown up with me. So sharing them with the world is quite an adventure. I have received great interest in my drawings and I’ve recently taken several commissions to create personalised Shivlings, which is incredibly exciting for me, and a completely new challenge.

The prints for sale are all carefully reproduced from Maxine’s original artworks. To create the originals Maxine starts with a paper base and creates an initial pencil outline, developing the body of the artwork with black and red fineliner pen and ink. Using a variety of drawing, inking and delicate decorating techniques, Maxine then multi layers and lightly textures with hand crafted decorative paper. She applies cut-out shapes traced from the original image to bring colour and pattern to each of The Shivlings.

Prices range from unframed, open edition fine art prints at £85 to £495 for a framed, limited edition (1-50) art print, which features an artist’s certificate of authenticity that is numbered, titled and artist-signed on the reverse, all are available at www.maxineshivling.com.

The originals are now selling from between £1,500 and £3,000
