It was chosen as one of four in the comedy category of the PANSA (the performing Arts Network of South Africa) playwriting competition. This competition provides an excellent platform for writers to get their plays onto stage and to \u2018see how they work\u2019 with actors and a director, before it gets developed for a full production.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Song and Dance is a black comedy, set in one of South Africa\u2019s big cities. Two bungling house robbers bite off more than they can chew when they are interrupted while robbing a trendy apartment in a \u2018mixed development\u2019 building. The twists and turns are unexpected and the robbers and victim end up realising that they have more in common than they thought possible.<\/p>\n<p>Song and Dance pokes fun at crime, money and fame in the most in-your-face way.<\/p>\n<p>This staged reading of Song and Dance is directed by Ntombi Makhutshi and performed by Anele Sithulweni, Deon Nebulane and Zondwa Njokweni.<\/p>\n<p>Song and dance will be at 6pm on Saturday 19 May at The Magnet Theatre in Observatory.
