acrylicize have created eye-opening installations that form the centrepiece of offices, stadiums and homes across the country. Clients include BBC, Wembley Stadium, Engine, The Office Group and big names in property including Lloyd Dorfman, Helical Bar and CBRE.
The story behind the company is one of great entrepreneurialism: Launched in 2003, as creative director James Burke’s final year art project, acrylicize has gone on to enjoy even greater success since the addition of long-time friend and business graduate Paul Arad. Using the last instalments of their student loans, Paul and James have gradually established a mini art and design empire that has led to them and their creative team creating art installations for high profile companies all over the world. They also have celebrity clients ranging from Prince Charles to George Michael, who bought one of the first acrylicize pieces at a charity art sale.
Heavily influenced by culture and fashion, the pair are always searching for ways to push the boundaries of art and design. Recent installations include an impressive light wall for London-based media agency Engine, a 3D life-size banker at the former Bank of England building, and a ribbon interpretation of a London landmark for an estate agency.
