Lucian Freud was a wonderful human being and a master craftsman who will be dearly missed by all art lovers. His contribution to the art world is second to none and his peers will be regard him as one of our most important contemporary figurative painters.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lucian in NYC at an exhibition back in the 80's, Soho district lower Manhattan. Lucian was easy to approach then and his paintings of humans were truly fascinating and very affordable in comparison to auction prices achieved today.

More than anything else Lucian was a wonderful human being with an exceptional sense of humour. We are truly fortunate he lived to the ripe old age of 88 years. He was an industrious artist and we thank for that. I was very please to read in the news that he had passed peacefully at home, no better place!

The parting of family or friends is never an easy and always a very difficult process. With both parents deceased I have a real understanding and experience of such events. With this mind join me in a prayer for Lucian, his family and friends.

Peace Hope Charity

Mark Human

Sleep Now, O Sleep Now by James Joyce

Sleep now, O sleep now,
O you unquiet heart!
A voice crying "Sleep now"
Is heard in my heart.

The voice of the winter
Is heard at the door.
O sleep, for the winter
Is crying "Sleep no more."

My kiss will give peace now
And quiet to your heart -- -
Sleep on in peace now,
O you unquiet heart!
